Meetway is a centralized platform designed to gather and categorize the best local events in a given city, providing users with a curated selection of upcoming activities over the next 7 to 10 days. Instead of browsing multiple sources separately, users can explore a single, well-organized hub that simplifies event discovery. The platform does not replace original event listings but enhances accessibility by presenting essential details, including the event’s name, date, and city. For full descriptions, exact locations, and registration, users are seamlessly redirected to the event’s original source. By offering a streamlined browsing experience, Meetway helps users stay informed about key events without unnecessary complexity. Initially, the platform is focused on a limited number of cities, allowing for optimization and scalability without overloading data processing. This measured approach ensures a high-quality experience while preparing for future expansion.

Event Discovery and Filtering

Meetway offers an intuitive search and filtering system, allowing users to refine event discovery based on specific criteria. By selecting a city, users can quickly find relevant events. Additionally, multiple filters enhance the search experience:

• Category: Events are grouped into categories such as design, art, finance, and programming.
• Event Type: Users can filter by event format, including conferences, exhibitions, meetups, and sports activities.
• Source: Events are aggregated from multiple platforms, including Eventbrite, Facebook Groups, Meetup, and HelloAsso.
• Date Range: Only upcoming events within the next seven days are displayed, ensuring fresh and relevant content.

This structured approach ensures that users can easily navigate and find events that match their interests while maintaining an up-to-date selection of activities.

Technical Architecture and Development

To ensure efficiency, reliability, and scalability, the development of Meetway has been structured into two distinct components:

• Core System (Python-based Processing Engine) The core system is responsible for retrieving, processing, and categorizing event data before storing it in the database. Written in Python, this independent processing engine operates autonomously from the web platform and runs on a dedicated server. It continuously fetches events from multiple sources, applies categorization logic, and updates the database with relevant information.
• Web Frontend and Database Interaction The frontend platform is entirely separate from the core system. It retrieves data from the database and presents it through an intuitive web interface. Users can search for events, apply multiple filters, and, if registered, save their favorite searches and events. Since the frontend functions independently, the platform remains fully operational even when the core system undergoes maintenance or updates.

This modular approach ensures that Meetway remains accessible at all times while maintaining a seamless event discovery experience.

Current Development Status

Meetway is currently in the final stages of development, with the frontend nearing completion. All core functionalities have been implemented, and only minor refinements remain. The backend processing engine is fully operational but undergoing final adjustments to optimize filtering mechanisms and event categorization. These improvements aim to enhance data accuracy and streamline event presentation, ensuring a seamless experience for users. With these refinements, Meetway is preparing for its launch phase, where real-world testing will validate its performance before wider deployment.
